An Analysis of Family Functions of Mothers who have Children aged 0 to 6 Years in Terms of Various Variables

Özet

Erken çocukluk döneminde aile, özellikle de toplumumuzda çocuğa birincil bakımı veren anneler, çok önemli bir yere sahiptir. Çocuğun bakımı, gelişimi ve eğitimi ilk olarak aile içinde başlar ve çevresel faktörlerle birlikte yine aile içinde devam eder. Bu nedenle annelerin aile işlevleri, 0-6 yaş arasındaki çocuklarının gelişimlerini etkileyebilmektedir. Bu araştırmada, 0-6 yaş arası çocuğu olan annelerin aile işlevlerinin çeşitli değişkenler açısından incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla, araştırmada tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırma örneklemini Bursa İli Nilüfer İlçesine bağlı Akçalar ve Işıktepe Aile Sağlığı Merkezlerine kayıtlı 0-6 yaş arası çocuğa sahip 201 anne oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada, “Aile Bilgi Formu" ve “Aile Değerlendirme Ölçeği (ADÖ) kullanılmıştır. Araştırma verileri, Ağustos 2016 ile Şubat 2017 tarihleri arasında Akçalar ve Işıktepe Aile Sağlığı Merkezleri ile işbirliği içerisinde ev ziyaretleri yapılarak ve Akçalar ve Işıktepe Aile Sağlığı Merkezlerine başvuran annelere ulaşılarak elde edilmiştir. Bulgular; annelerin aile işlevleri ile eğitim durumları, aylık ortalama gelirleri, sağlık güvence durumları ve eşlerinin çocukları ile ilgilenmelerine ilişkin algıları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık olduğunu göstermiştir.

Abstract

In early childhood the family - especially those who give primary care to the child in our society - have a very important place. The care, development and education of the child first begin within the family and continue with the family together with environmental factors. For this reason, family functions of mothers can affect the development of children between 0-6 years of age. In this study, it was aimed to examine the family functions of mothers with children aged 0 to 6 years in terms of various variables. For this purpose, the screening model was used. The study sample consisted of 201 mothers with children aged 0 to 6 years enrolled in Bursa, Akçalar, and Işıktepe Family Health Centers. "Family Information Form" and "Family Assessment Scale" were used in the research. The research data was collected from August 2016 to February 2017 by visiting the Family Health Centers in cooperation with these centers and reaching out to mothers and their children aged 0 to 6 years who applied to the Family Health Centers. The findings show that mothers exhibit significant correlations between their family functioning and their educational status, average monthly income, health insurance status, and perceptions of their spouse's involvement with their children. There is also a moderate to strong positive correlations between the subscales of the Family Assessment Scale.
