INVESTIGATION OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN FATHERS' CHILD LOVE LEVELS AND CHILD CARE LEVELS

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine whether fathers' level of child love affects their level of caring for their children. In addition, it is to be able to determine the variables that affect fathers' liking and caring for their children. Relational Screening Model was used in the study. The study group of the study consists of 289 fathers, three-six-year-old children attending Independent State Kindergartens in the central district of Burdur in the spring term of the 2019-2020 academic year. For the data belonging to the fathers, the personal information form prepared by the researchers, the Child-Parent Relationship Scale-Father Form (ÇEİÖ-F) and the Barnett Child Loving Scale were used. It was concluded that there is a significant positive correlation at the level of p <.05 between the child-loving levels of the fathers participating in the study and their level of caring for their children. Fathers' child loving levels in the study; While they differ significantly according to their marital status, the educational status of their spouses and the answer they gave to the question "Would your father make physical contact to show his love when you were a child?" The levels of fathers' interest in their children differed significantly according to their educational status and the answer they gave to the question "Would your father make physical contact to show his love when you were a child?" In the findings, only tables of variables with significant differences are included. It is thought that the research will provide support to educators who will work in this field.

Bu araştırmanın amacı, babaların çocuk sevme düzeylerinin, çocuklarıyla ilgilenme düzeylerini etkileyip etkilemediğini belirlemektir. Ayrıca babaların çocuk sevme ve çocuklarıyla ilgilenme durumlarını etkileyen değişkenleri belirleyebilmektir. Araştırmada İlişkisel Tarama Modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, 2019-2020 öğretim yılı bahar döneminde Burdur ili merkez ilçesi Bağımsız Devlet Anaokullarına devam eden üç-altı yaş grubu çocuğu olan 289 baba oluşturmaktadır. Babalara ait veriler için araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlamış olan kişisel bilgi formu, Çocuk Ebeveyn İlişkisi Ölçeği-Baba Formu (ÇEİÖ-F) ve Barnett Çocuk Sevme Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmaya katılan babaların çocuk sevme düzeyleri ile çocuklarıyla ilgilenme düzeyleri arasında p<.05 düzeyinde, pozitif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Araştırmada babaların çocuk sevme düzeyleri; medeni durumlarına, eşlerinin öğrenim durumlarına ve ‘Babanız siz çocukken sevgisini göstermek için fiziksel temas kurar mıydı?’ sorusuna verdikleri cevaba göre anlamlı farklılık gösterirken; Babaların çocuklarıyla ilgilenme düzeylerinin ise öğrenim durumlarına ve ‘Babanız siz çocukken sevgisini göstermek için fiziksel temas kurar mıydı?’ sorusuna verdikleri cevaba göre anlamlı farklılık göstermiştir. Bulgularda sadece anlamlı farklılıkların olduğu değişkenlere ait tablolara yer verilmiştir. Araştırmanın bu alanda çalışma yapacak olan eğitimcilere destek sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir
