Özet

In thestudy, it wasaimed to determine the misconceptions of 8thgrade students about the concepts of "solid, fluid and gas pressure", to correct these misconceptions by using STEM supported Scienceactivities, and to improve their attitudes towards Scienceand STEM. The study group consistedof 46 8thgrade students at a public school in Ankara in the fall semesterof the 2019-2020 schoolyear. They weredetermined using the appropriate sampling method, one of the non-probabilistic sampling methodsIn the study, experimental method withpre-test-post-test single group model was used. Thestudy was conducted with two experimental groups in order to increase the reliability of the research. The data were collected viathe "Pressure Conceptual Understanding Test", “Attitude Scales towards Scienceand STEM”. The results revealedthat the students had misconceptions about “Pressure" in the pre-test. It was also found outthat STEM was usefulto overcome the detected misconceptions, largely overcome the misconceptions existing in students, and the participant students' attitudes towards STEMdeveloped at a positive level, whereasthere wasno change in their attitude towards Science
