EXPERIENCING / PERSPECTIVE FROM A SPECIAL CHILD'S WINDOW

Abstract

Interior Design Project titled "Experiencing / Perspective From A Special Child's Window" is a product of an experimental work carried out with the 3th grade students of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Istanbul Kültür University. Studio aimed at evaluating the Universal Design Principles from an Autistic Childs eye. In this context; it is aimed that to be considered as a holistic approach, individuals with differences in the society should not be restricted by these features and that they can benefit from the physical environment equally and that their learning activities can be held in a healthier environment. In the ''Perspective From A Special Child's Window…’’ studio, the design criteria for educational buildings for children with autism who has an important place in society is discussed.

Özet

Deneyimleme/ Özel çocuğun penceresinden… başlıklı İç Mimarlık Projesi İstanbul Kültür Üniversitesi İç Mimarlık ve Çevre Tasarımı Bölümü 3. Sınıf öğrencileri ile gerçekleştirilen deneysel bir çalışmanın ürünüdür. Stüdyo “Evrensel Tasarım İlkelerini Otizmli Çocuk gözünden değerlendirmeyi hedeflemiştir. Bu bağlamda; tasarımın herkesi kapsayıcı, bütüncül yaklaşım içerisinde ele alınması ile toplumda farklılıklara sahip bireylerin bu özelliklerinden dolayı kısıtlanmaması ve fiziki çevreden eşit şekilde yararlanması ve öğrenme faaliyetlerini sağlıklı bir ortamda gerçekleştirebilmeleri amaçlanmıştır. Özel Çocuğun Penceresinden… stüdyosunda toplumda önemli bir yer tutan Otizmli çocuklar için eğitim yapılarının tasarım kriterleri tartışılmıştır.
