The Poets Who Changed Mahlas and Used More than One Mahlas

Abstract

Divan poets usually were called with their mahlas instead of their real names. In Turkish literature tradationally poets used only one mahlas by the effect of Iran and Şeyhi. Morever some of the poets had changed their mahlas and some others had used more than one mahlas. İn this article the poets who changed their mahlas and who used more than one mahlas were found out by looking through bibliografic sources and the reasons of this were shown by tables and graphics.

Özet

Divan şiirinde şairler çoğunlukla asıl isimlerinin yerine mahlas denilen sanat isimlerini kullanmışlardır. Türk edebiyatında İran tesiri ve Şeyhî ile birlikte başlayan bu gelenekte şairler, çoğunlukla tek mahlas kullanmışlardır. Ancak bazı şairlerin mevcut mahlasını değiştirdiği, bazılarının ise birden fazla mahlas kullandığı da bilinmektedir. Bu makalede biyografik kaynaklar taranarak mahlas değiştiren ve birden fazla mahlas kullanan şairler ile her iki durumun sebepleri tespit edilmeye çalışılmış, bu tespitler tablo ve grafiklerle de gösterilmiştir.
