Developing a scale for attitudes towards the curriculum development and instruction course

Program geliştirme ve öğretim dersine yönelik bir tutum ölçeği geliştirme

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop a scale in order to measure prospective teachers' attitudes towards the Curriculum Development and Instruction course. The study group was composed of 286 prospective teachers. The process of developing the Attitude Scale involved a literature scan, taking student opinions through essays, creating an item pool, taking expert opinions, a pretesting study as well as studies on determining the structural validity and reliability. The scale as a result of analysis consisted of 30 items and three factors. These factors were called contradiction (12 items), interest (9 items) and appreciation (9 items). It was seen that the factor weights of the scale items varied between 0.51 and 0.75. Three factors were interpreted 60.15% of total variance on scale scores. The statistical analysis concluded that the Attitude Scale for Curriculum Development and Instruction course was a valid and reliable tool.

Bu çalışmada, öğretmen adaylarının Program Geliştirme ve Öğretim dersine yönelik tutumlarını ölçmede kullanılacak bir ölçek geliştirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma grubunu 286 öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Ölçeğin geliştirilmesi sürecinde; alanyazın tarama, kompozisyon ile öğrenci görüşü alma, madde havuzu oluşturma, uzman görüşleri alma, ön deneme çalışması yapma, yapı geçerliliği ve güvenirliği belirleme çalışmaları gerçekleştirilmiştir. Madde analizi ve faktör analizi sonucunda 30 maddeden oluşan üç faktörlü bir ölçek elde edilmiştir. Ölçeğin 12 maddeden oluşan birinci faktörü "Yadsıma", 9 maddeden oluşan ikinci faktörü "Sevme" ve 9 maddeden oluşan üçüncü faktörü "Önem verme" olarak adlandırılmıştır. Ölçek maddelerinin faktör yükleri 0.51-0.75 arasında değişmektedir. Üç faktörün açıkladıkları toplam varyans % 60.15'dir. Ölçeğin öğretmen adaylarının Program Geliştirme ve Öğretim dersine yönelik tutumlarını ölçmede geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olduğu saptanmıştır.
