A Model of Gifted Science Teachers' Performance Evaluation

Üstün Yetenekli Çocukların Fen Bilimleri Öğretmenlerinin Performans Değerlendirmesine Yönelik Bir Model Önerisi

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop evaluation tools of which basic features the oretically situated in the literature and to combine those tools under a model framework. The study was conducted under three phases; (1) the preparation and validity-reliability studies of a seience teacher assessment scale for students (2) developing a science teacher observation scale (STOS) for school administrators, (3) preparing a science teacher activity form. Interviews and DELPHI technique were used during these studies. SPSS program was used for the statistical analyses. From the data analyses, a science teacher assessment scale including, 55 items with .90 reliability score, the science teacher observation scale and an activity assessment form were developed. It is suggested that using the assessment tools effectively, a comittee should conduct performance assessment tools.

Özet

Bu çalışmanın amacı, teorik olarak ana hatları literatürde yer alan üstün yetenekli çocukların fen öğretmenlerinin performans takip sürecindeki değerlendirme araçlarını geliştirmek ve bu araçları bir model çatısı altında birleştirmektir. Çalışma üç aşamalı olarak gerçekleştirilmiştir: (1) Öğrencilere yönelik fen öğretmeni değerlendirme ölçeğinin hazırlanması, bunun geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışmaları; (2) İdarecilerinin bakış açısı ile öğretmenlerin değerlendirilmesini sağlayacak Fen Öğretmeni Gözlem Çizelgesi (FÖGÇ) oluşturulması; (3) Fen Öğretmeni Faaliyet Değerlendirme Formu'nun hazırlanmasıdır. Bu çalışmalar sürecinde mülakat ve Delphi teknikleri, istatistiksel analizlerde ise SPSS paket programı kullanılmıştır. Elde,edilen verilerin analizi sonucunda 55 maddelik ve 90 güvenirliğe sahip fen öğretmeni değerlendirme ölçeği, fen öğretmeni gözlem çizelgesi ve faaliyet değerlendirme formu geliştirilmiştir. Çalışmalar neticesinde elde edilen bu değerlendirme araçlarından üst düzeyde verim alınabilmesi için performans değerlendirme çalışmalarının bir kurul tarafından yapılması önerilmektedir.
