Health Sciences Students’ Knowledge, Attitudes and Behaviors About COVID-19: A Review Study

Sağlık Bilimleri Öğrencilerinin COVID-19 Hakkındaki Bilgi, Tutum ve Davranışları: Derleme Çalışması

Abstract

Health professionals form the most riskful group in COVID-19 epidemic. The knowledge, attitudes and behaviours of health sciences students who will be responsible for providing health services in the future are of vital importance. The purpose of this study is to examine the studies measuring the knowledge, attitudes and behaviours of health sciences students that are published between 2019-2020. Scans were carried out with using computer-aided search engines Google Scholar, PubMed, ProQuest, Wiley Online Library, MedRvix, using the keywords “COVID-19, coronavirus, novel coronavirus, SARS-COV-2, knowledge, attitude, practice” as English and “COVID-19, koronavirüs, yeni koronavirüs, SARS-COV-2, bilgi, tutum, davranış” as Turkish in June 2020. All the studies on this subject conducted on this subject are in the cross-sectional design and they are generally conducted in Asian countries such as China, Pakistan and India. However, there is only one study conducted in Turkey. When the studies are examined, it is observed that there are very opposite results under the same subtitles.

Özet

COVID-19 pandemisinde sağlık profesyonelleri en riskli gruplar arasında yer almaktadır. Gelecek dönemlerde sağlık hizmetlerinin sunumundan sorumlu olacak olan sağlık bilimleri öğrencilerinin COVID-19’a yönelik bilgi, tutum ve davranışları oldukça önem taşımaktadır. Çalışmanın amacı; sağlık bilimleri öğrencilerinin COVID-19’a karşı bilgi, tutum ve davranışlarını ölçen 2019-2020 yılları arasında yayınlanmış çalışmaların genel olarak incelenmesidir. Taramalar Haziran 2020 tarihinde bilgisayar destekli arama motorları olan Google Scholar, PubMed, ProQuest, Wiley Online Library, MedRvix’de İngilizce “COVID-19, coronavirus, novel coronavirus, SARSCOV- 2, knowledge, attitude, practice” ve Türkçe “COVID-19, koronavirüs, yeni koronavirüs, SARS-COV-2, bilgi, tutum, davranış” anahtar kelimeleri kullanılarak yapılmıştır. Konu ile ilgili yapılan çalışmalar genellikle Çin, Hindistan, Pakistan gibi Asya ülkelerinde yapılmasına rağmen Türkiye’de yapılan bir çalışma bulunmaktadır ve araştırmalar kesitsel araştırma türündedir. Araştırmalar incelendiğinde aynı alt başlıklar altında birbirine çok zıt sonuçların çıktığı gözlemlenmiştir
