Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the performances of gifted children in non-verbal Standard Progressive Matrices Test and TONI-3, thought to be independent of culture. The research group included 105 gifted children who were special education students at the Science and Arts Center (BILSEM) in the city of Izmir. The mean age of the children was 9.09 and standard deviation was .72. Standard Progressive Matrices Test and Toni-3 test were administered to the students individually by the researcher. The results of the study showed gifted students had high scores in the Standard Progressive Matrices Test and the TONI3 Test. These scores highly correlated with their scores WISC-R.
