Abstract
This paper is the result of a debate and of the shared vision of the linguistic error as a signal along the learning pathway, when the target language has not been fully acquired yet. This active concept of the error and the intention of involving both learners and their peers in its correction boosted the research, which aims at encouraging the correction of the most common orthographic errors of adult learners through ludolinguistics (word games such as crosswords, gap-fills and word puzzles). Can ludolinguistics lower the stress due to error detection and correction, based on the assumption that students feel at ease when playing with words, even if they make mistakes? Do crosswords, gap-fills and world puzzles lead to improvements in orthographic productions? Does peer-correction resulting in feedback promote higher metalinguistic competences?
