ADAPTATION VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY ANALYSIS OF VIRTUOUS LEADERSHIP SCALE

ERDEMLİ LİDERLİK ÖLÇEĞİNİN UYARLANMASI GEÇERLİK VE GÜVENİRLİK ANALİZİ

Abstract

Virtues are reflected in human behavior as character traits and are vital for leadership. The virtuous leadership scale, consisting of 18 items and five dimensions developed by Wang (2011) was applied to three different groups consisting of university students and teachers. In order to determine the language equivalence of the scale, English and Turkish versions of the scale were applied to the English language teaching students in three weeks. It was determined that there was a significant and positive relationship between the scores obtained from both forms. Confirmatory factor analysis was conducted and indexes indicating the compatibility of the data with the model were examined and it was determined that the scale had acceptable compliance. (X2/sd=2,25; RMSA=0,07; SRMR=0,04; NFI=0,92; CFI=0,95; GFI=0,88; AGFI=0,85). Criterion validity was examined and significant and positive correlation was found between the scales. The coefficient of internal consistency was found 0.96, so it was decided that the scale was highly reliable. Examining the item total correlation findings showed that all the items were understood correctly by the participants. The virtuous leadership scale, adapted to Turkish, is considered to be a valid and reliable tool in determining virtuous leadership level.

Karakter özelliği olarak insanın davranışlarına yansıyan erdemler liderlik için hayati derecede gereklidir. Wang (2011) tarafından geliştirilen 18 madde ve beş boyuttan oluşan erdemli liderlik ölçeği üniversite öğrencilerinden ve öğretmenlerden oluşan üç ayrı grup üzerinde uygulanarak Türkçeye uyarlanmıştır. Dil eşdeğerliğini belirlemek için İngilizce öğretmenliği bölümü öğrencilerine ölçeğin İngilizce ve Türkçesi üç hafta ara ile uygulanmıştır. Her iki formdan elde edilen puanlar arasında anlamlı ve olumlu yönde ilişki olduğu belirlenmiştir. Yapı geçerliğinin incelenmesinde doğrulayıcı faktör analizi yapılmış ve verilerle modelin uyumunu gösteren indeksler incelenmiş ve ölçeğin kabul edilebilir uyuma sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir (X2/sd=2,25; RMSA=0,07; SRMR=0,04; NFI=0,92; CFI=0,95; GFI=0,88; AGFI=0,85). Ölçüt geçerliği incelemesinde ölçekler arasında anlamlı ve olumlu korelasyon belirlenmiştir. İç tutarlık katsayısının ölçeğin geneli için 0,96 olduğu ve ölçeğin yüksek derecede güvenilir olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Madde toplam korelasyonunun incelenmesinde bulgular bütün maddelerin katılımcılar tarafından doğru anlaşıldığını göstermektedir. Türkçeye uyarlanan Erdemli liderlik ölçeğinin, erdemli liderlik düzeyini belirlemede geçerli ve güvenilir bir araç olduğu değerlendirilmektedir.
