In The Context of The Guests of Abraham Lafzi Mutashabıh in The Qu’rân

Abstract

Some parables are told in accordance to the purposes of the Quran. The way these parables are told is appropriate to the main ideas and general issues of the surah; the parables are told in a style which serves for the purpose of the surah, and the relevant part of the parable is highlighted. One example is the parable about the angel of mercy and the angel of torment who came to Prophet Abraham before destroying the people of Prophet Lut; they gave him the good news that his wife would give birth to a boy.This story was told in different surahs of the Quran, but the relevant part of the story was told in other ways to serve the exact purpose of each surah; different expressions and phrases are chosen according to this. Even though they are all telling the same parable and using similar expressions, no expression was repeated identically in different surahs, and represented the images of a living museum from seperate angles. In this study, we will first examine the parable about the envoys or guests who came to Prophet Abraham according to tafseer and history books. Then, we will investigate the similar and different features in the literary phrases of the parable.

Özet

Kur’ân’ın amaçları doğrultusunda bazı kıssalar anlatılmaktadır. Bir kıssa hangi sûrede anlatılıyorsa o sûrenin ana eksenine ve genel konularına uygun, temel hedef ve gâyesine hizmet edecek tarzda anlatılır ve kıssanın maksada uygun kısmı serdedilir. Buna örneklerinden biri de Hz. Lût kavmini helâke giderken öncelikle Hz. İbrahim’e uğrayıp ona bir erkek çocuk müjdeleyen rahmet ve azap meleklerinin kıssasıdır. Bu kıssa Kur’ân’ın farklı sûrelerinde anlatılmıştır. Ancak kıssanın ilgili kısmı her sûrenin kendi amaç ve gâyesine uygun gelecek tarzda zikredilmiştir. Farklı ifade ve tabirler de buna göre seçilmiştir. Aynı kıssa anlatılıyor olmasına rağmen birbirine benzer ifadeler (lafzî müteşabih) kullanılsa da hiçbir sûrede diğer sûredekinin aynısı tekrar edilmemiş, canlı bir müzenin farklı açılardan görüntüleri serdedilmiştir. Bu araştırmada öncelikle Hz. İbrahim’e gelen elçi veya konukların kıssası ele alınacak, sonra bu kıssada yer alan edebî ifade ve inceliklerin benzer ve farklı yönleri incelenecektir.
