Wistar Albino cinsi sıçanlara DMBA uygulanan çalışmada katesin ve vitamin E’nin antioksidan özellikleri araştırıldı. Ratlar, kontrol, DMBA, DMBA+CAT ve DMBA+VE olarak rastgele gruplara ayrıldı. GC kullanılarak yağ asidi analizleri yapıldı. Kas dokusunda, palmitik asit miktarının kontrol grubuna göre DMBA ve DMBA+VE gruplarında düşük olduğu belirlendi (p<0.01, p<0.05). Palmitoleik asit miktarının her iki dokuda da kontrol grubuna göre diğer gruplarda azaldığı saptandı (p<0.05, p<0,01). Kas dokusunda oleik asit miktarı kontrol ve DMBA gruplarına göre DMBA+CAT grubunda azaldığı tespit edildi (p<0.05, p<0.01). Kas dokusunda, linoleik asit miktarı (18:2, n6) kontrol grubuna göre diğer gruplarda artarken (p<0.01), testis dokusunda ise antioksidan verilen gruplarda azaldı (p<0.05).
