Özet
Türkiye’deki kentleşme olgusu, ülkenin toplumsal, siyasal, kültürel ve ekonomik yapısını, değer ve normlarını değiştiren ve biçimlendiren temel öğelerden biridir. Kentleşmeyle birlikte yeni bir sosyalleşme ve siyasallaşma süreci başlamıştır. Bu nedenle kentleşme, yalnız, tarımdaki değişmelerin ve sanayileşmenin bir sonucu değil, toplumsal değişme sürecinin de bir göstergesidir. Bu anlamda kentleşmeyi, Türkiye gibi ülkelerde neden sonuç ilişkisi içerisinde gerçekleşen bir değişim süreci olarak nitelendirebiliriz. Ülkemizde kır, kent ve kentleşme olgusu birçok gelişmiş ülkeden farklılık gösterir. Önceleri tarımın makineleşmesiyle başlayan kentleşme olgusu daha sonraki dönemlerde farklı etmenlerin eklenmesiyle devam etmiştir. Son yıllarda ise bu etmenlerin başında yasal yönetsel düzenlemeler gelmektedir.
