Patient privacy is the patient's or healthy individual's obligation to disclose to the individuals receiving health care services during diagnosis, treatment and health care; It is the living space that he wants to be kept secret from other individuals in the society. Therefore, it is important that all personnel in the healthcare team be careful about this issue. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of the education given to the students of the home care program on patient privacy. The study, which was designed as a quasi-experimental study, was carried out in clinical practice areas with home patient care program students (n=30) of a vocational school between October 2022 and January 2023. Students were given face-to-face and bedside training on patient privacy. Data were collected by pre- and post-education evaluation with the "Student Descriptive Information Form" and the "Patient Privacy Scale". It was found that 20% of the students before the training and 83.3% after the training had knowledge about patient privacy. It was determined that the scores the students got from the Patient Privacy Scale after the education were statistically significantly higher than the scores they got before the education (p<0.05). It was determined that the education given to the students of the home patient care program on patient privacy increased the attention to patient privacy. It is thought that it would be beneficial to provide patient privacy education both theoretically and practically during the students' education.

Hasta mahremiyeti, hasta ya da sağlıklı bireyin tanı, tedavi ve sağlık bakım esnasında sağlık hizmeti aldığı bireylere açıklamak zorunda kaldığı ancak; toplumdaki diğer bireylerden gizli tutulmasını istediği yaşam alanıdır. Dolayısıyla sağlık ekibinde tüm personelin bu konuda dikkatli olması önemlidir. Bu araştırmada amaç, evde hasta bakımı programı öğrencilerine hasta mahremiyeti konusunda verilen eğitimin etkisinin belirlenmesidir. Yarı deneysel olarak tasarlanan araştırma Ekim 2022-Ocak 2023 tarihleri arasında bir meslek yüksekokulunun evde hasta bakımı programı öğrencileri (n=30) ile klinik uygulama alanlarında yürütüldü. Öğrencilere yüz yüze ve hasta başında hasta mahremiyeti ile ilgili eğitim verildi. Veriler, “Öğrenci Tanıtıcı Bilgi Formu” ve “Hasta Mahremiyet Ölçeği” ile eğitim öncesi ve sonrası değerlendirme ile toplandı. Öğrencilerin eğitim öncesi %20’sinin, eğitim sonrası ise %83.3’ünün hasta mahremiyeti hakkında bilgi sahibi olduğu bulundu. Öğrencilerin eğitim sonrası Hasta Mahremiyet Ölçeği’nden aldıkları puanın eğitim öncesi aldıkları puana göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı derecede yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır (p<0.05). Hasta mahremiyeti konusunda evde hasta bakımı programı öğrencilerine verilen eğitimin hasta mahremiyetine özen gösterme durumunu arttırdığı belirlendi. Hasta mahremiyet eğitiminin öğrencilerin öğrenimleri süresince teorik ve uygulamalı olarak verilmesinin yararlı olacağı düşünülmektedir.
