Abstract

Mineral elements are essential to health. They should be present in diet. But the excessive dose can be toxic tohumans. Milk and dairy products can be a source of heavy metals. The occurrence of heavy metals in dairy often results fromenvironmental and industrial contamination. Environmental pollution is a global problem for man. Heavy metal accumulationin the environment must be prevented to avoid health risk and further deterioration of the environment. This review issummarize the effects of mineral elements and heavy metals on organism and to describe a source of contamination andinputs of heavy metals into food chain and dairy products.
