Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic people experienced uncertainties that have caused various psychological symptoms such as fear and anxiety in particular. Although the COVID-19 pandemic negatively affected people’s mental health, it has been known that there are also some protective factors as well. One of these factors is the concept of psychological resilience that is associated with positive psychology. In this context, the aim of the study is to examine the graduate theses written in Turkey about the COVID-19 pandemic and psychological resilience. In this study, in which the document analysis method was used, the graduate theses archived by the YÖK Publication Documentation Department were included in the analysis. A total of 23 graduate theses were examined in this study. The results of the study have showed that 22 graduate theses were written at master's level and 1 thesis was written in medical specialization with mostly young adults and adults. When the theses were examined, it was found that 16 theses were published in 2021 and 7 theses published in 2022. When the theses were analyzed in terms of department in which the study was conducted, it was found that 6 theses were written in the field of psychology, followed by 4 theses from each field of counseling, clinical psychology and nursing. When the subjects studied in the theses were examined, it was determined that the majority of the studies focused on psychological symptoms (depression, anxiety, stress levels, etc.) and COVID-19 fear. The findings obtained as a result of the study were discussed in the light of the existing literature and suggestions were made.
