Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between marrital satisfaction and familyfunctionality of married individuals. The sample were consisted of 202 participants including 135female (66.83%) and 67 male (33.17%) whose age ranges from 19 to 66 years (X=34.74, SD= 8.94). Asdata collection tools, Family Assesment Scale (Bulut, 1990) and Marital Life Scale (Tezer, 1996) wereadministered to the participants. Pearson Moment Correlation, Multiple Linear Regression analyseswere conducted to analyse data. According to the results, a significant relationship between maritalsatisfaction and family functioning and its sub-dimensions was found. In addition, the results alsoindicated that a total of 42% of marital satisfaction was explained by the sub dimensions of familyfunctioning, which are namely roles, communication, affective responsiveness, affective involvement, problem solving, and behavior control
