Abstract

In the present study, the purpose is develop a measurement tool that aims to measure the thinking support behaviors of preschool teachers. The study group of the research, in which the scanning model was used, consists of 207 pre-school teachers working in private and public preschool education institutions affiliated to the Provincial Directorate of National Education in the province of Kütahya. Exploratory Factor Analysis was performed to determine the construct validity of the scale, and internal consistency coefficient, item-total correlation, comparison of extreme groups and test split techniques were used to examine its reliability. As a result of the factor analysis applied, the four-factor structure of the Thinking Supporting Teacher Behaviors Scale-Preschool Teacher Form consisting of "Openness", "Reflection Through Documentation", "Providing Free/Flexible Learning Environments" and "Questioning" dimensions emerged. The values obtained as a result of the validity and reliability analyzes showed that the scale is an acceptably valid and reliable Likert-type measurement tool that measures the thinking support behaviors of preschool teachers.

Özet

Bu araştırmanın amacı, okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin düşünmeyi destekleme davranışlarını ölçmeyi amaçlayan bir ölçme aracının geliştirilmesidir. Tarama modelinin kullanıldığı araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, Kütahya ilinde İl Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü’ne bağlı özel ve resmi okul öncesi eğitim kurumlarında görev yapmakta olan 207 okul öncesi öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Ölçeğin yapı geçerliliğini belirlemek için Açımlayıcı Faktör Analizi yapılmış, güvenirliğini incelemek için ise iç tutarlılık katsayısı, madde toplam korelasyonu, uç grupların karşılaştırılması ve testi yarılama tekniklerinden faydalanılmıştır. Uygulanan faktör analizi sonucunda Düşünmeyi Destekleyen Öğretmen Davranışları Ölçeği-Okul Öncesi Öğretmeni Formu’nun “Açıklık”, “Dokümantasyon Aracılığıyla Yansıtma”, “Özgür/Esnek Öğrenme Ortamları Sunma”, “Soru Sorma” boyutlarından oluşan dört faktörlü yapısı ortaya çıkmıştır. Geçerlik ve güvenirlik analizleri sonucunda elde edilen değerler, ölçeğin, okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin düşünmeyi destekleme davranışlarını ölçen, kabul edilebilir düzeyde geçerli ve güvenilir Likert tipi bir ölçme aracı olduğu göstermiştir.
