Özet
Antik dönemde Paflagonia olarak bilinen bölge içinde yer alan Safranbolu, su kaynaklarının bolluğu ve bunların kullanım biçimleriyle dikkat çekmektedir. Geleneksel Safranbolu evinde su mutfak, abdestlik-helâ ve gusülhane gibi standart kullanımın yanı sıra özellikle ev sahibinin saygınlığını yansıtan havuzlu odalarla ayrıcalıklı bir kullanıma kavuşmuştur. Bu çalışma Safranbolu’da Osmanlı dönemi geleneksel konut mimarisinde suyun mekan içinde kullanılmasına örnek teşkil edebilecek ev içindeki havuz odalarını / havuzlu sofaları ve geleneksel Safranbolu evinden bağımsız, bahçede inşa edilen havuz odalarını ele almaktadır
