Abstract

The aim of this research was to investigate the validity and reliability of Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency for 5-6 years old Turkish children. The sampling of this study constituted of 69 girls and 59 boys total of 128 children aged between 5 to 6 attending two kindergarten in Ankara that are associated with Ministry of National Education. Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency (BOTMP) and Test of Performance Evaluation of Preschool Children (TPEPC) were used to get data from children. For the validity of BOTMP expert opinion, item total test correlation, t-test between teacher evaluation scores and correlation analysis between the scores of BOTMP and Test of Performance Evaluation of Preschool Children were conducted. For the reliability analysis, t-test of upper 27%lower 27% groups, internal consistency, split-half test correlation, testretest correlation and interrater correlation analysis alpha coefficient were used. There was a statically significant differences of t-test score BOTMP points between the children that have higher and lower psychomotor level according to teacher evaluation (p
