Abstract

Aim: WAim: We evaluated the results of surgical treatments in sixteen patients with prediagnosed endometriosis intheir abdominal wall. Material and Method: The results for the patients who were diagnosed with endometriosis and operated from Janu- ary 2000 to October 2012 were evaluated. Their age, localization of endometriosis, the time period from the previousgynaecological surgery to beginning of symptoms, the type of surgical procedure and postoperative histopathologicalresults were enrolled from the database retrospectively. Results: The mean age of sixteen patients was 30.8. There were endometriosis tissues in 11 pfannenstiel, 3 lowerumbilical midline, and 2 pararectal incision scars of the patients. Endometriosis was diagnosed in nine patients inpreoperative period. There were gynaecological operation histories in all patients. The mean time from the operationto the symptoms was 39.8 months. In all patients endometriosis foci were excised with 2 cm free margins. Conclusion: Endometriosis should be treated because of serious symptoms, risks of recurrence and low possibility ofmalignancy. The curative treatment is surgery and it must be done with total excision and at least 1 cm free margins.

Bulgular: On altı hastanın yaş ortalaması 30,8 idi. Hastaların 11inde pfannenstiel insizyon, 3ünde göbek altı me- dian insziyon, 2sinde de pararektal insizyon skarında endometirozis dokusu tespit edildi.
