Abstract
We evaluated the outcome of four patients who underwent phacoemulsification and intraocular lens (IOL) insertion in this case report. Polymethylmetacrilate (PMMA) IOL implantation was performed in 2 patients and in the other 2 patients foldable silicon IOL's were used. Post operative best corrected visual acuities were 0.8 or better in all patients. In one patient hyphema developed in the anterior chamber during surgery (Amsler' sign). The bleeding was controlled with the injection of viscoelastic substance. Deposits on the PMMA İOL optic due to severe anterior uveitis was observed in one case in the early postoperative period. Bu çalışmada, fakoemülsifikasyon yöntemi ile intraoküler lens (İOL) implantasyonu uygulanan dört hastanın cerrahi sonuçları değerlendirildi. İki hastaya polimetilmetakrilat (PMMA) İOL, 2 hastaya da katlanabilir silikon İOL implantasyonu yapıldı. Ameliyat sonrası tüm hastaların düzeltilmiş görme keskinlikleri 0.8 ve üzerindeydi. Bir hastada ön kamaraya girildiği anda hafif bir kanama oluştu (Amsler bulgusu) ancak viskoelastik madde verilmesi ile kanama kontrol edildi. Bir hastada ameliyat sonrası erken dönemde PMMA İOL üzerinde yoğun presipitasyona neden olan ciddi ön üveit görüldü. Sistemik ve topikal steroid tedavisi ile tablo düzeldi. Fuchs'un heterokromik iridosiklitinde fakoemülsifikasyon cerrahisi ve İOL implantasyonu güvenli bir yöntem olarak görülmektedir.
