Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between electricity consumption and economic growth in Turkey. In the study that is used annual data for 1960-2012 period, the relationship between two series is investigated ARDL (Autoregressive Distributes Lag) Bounds Testing method and is showed that there is cointegration between two series. It’s made use of Granger Causality Test for determining the side of relationship between cointegrated series. The results have also parallel results with previous studies in the literature and indicate that bidirectional causality between electricity consumption and economic growth.
