On dokuzuncu yüzyıl Türk edebiyatında adı geçen Hâlet Bey, klasik edebiyatımız alanında şiirler yazmış; gazete, edebî dergi ve biyografiler yayınlamıştır. Biyografilerinden biri, on beşinci yüzyıl Türk bilim ve düşünce dünyasının önemli isimlerinden Molla Lutfî’ye aittir. Çalışmamızda, sözü edilen bu biyografi ana hatlarıyla tanıtılmış ve Arap kökenli Türk harfleriyle yazılmış eserin yeni harfli Türk alfabesiyle yapılan çevriyazısı verilmiştir. Eser, Türk Edebiyatı’nda biyografi türünün gelişimini gösteren örnek bir metin olmakla birlikte, Hâlet Bey’in edebî kişiliğinin aydınlatılmasına katkı sağlar.
