Abstract

Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the isolated impact of age on the result of 50 gram glucose challenge test and on the prevalence of gestational diabetes mellitus. Materials and Methods: 54 women under 25 years, 65 women between 25 and 29 years, 52 women between 30 and 34 years and 66 women > 35 years with singleton pregnancies were included in the study. The groups were matched according to body mass index, pre-pregnant body weight and weight at 24 weeks. A 1 -hour 50 gram glucose challenge test was performed to all patients between 24 and 28 weeks. Fasting blood glucose was also measured before the test. 3-hour 100 gram oral glucose tolerance test was performed to the patients with 50 gram glucose challenge test result above 140 mg/dl. Results: The rate of 50 gram glucose challenge test positivity and the prevalence of gestational diabetes mellitus was found to increase with age (p 35 age group than

Özet

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, yaşın 50 gram glukoz tarama testi sonucu ve gestasyonel diyabet prevalansı üzerindeki izole etkisini belirlemektir Materyal ve Metot: Çalışmaya vücut kitle indeksi, gebelik öncesi vücut ağırlığı ve 24. hafta ağırlıkları açısından eşleştirilmiş 25 yaş altında 54,25-29 yaşlar arasında 65,30-34 yaşlar arasında 52 ve 35 yaş ve üzerinde 66 tekil gebeliği olan sağlıklı gebeler dahil edildi.24 28 haftalar arasında 1 -saatlik 50 gram glukoz tarama testi uygulandı, hastaların ayrıca test öncesinde açlık kan şekerleri ölçüldü.50 gram glukoz tarama testi 140 mg/dl ve üzerinde olan hastalara 3 saatlik 100 gram oral glukoz tolerans testi yapıldı. Bulgular: Yaş arttıkça pozitif 50 gram glukoz tarama testi oranı ve gestasyonel diyabet prevalansı daha yüksek bulundu (sırasıyla p 35 yaş gruplarında,
