Abstract

Aim: The aim of our study was to review the relationship between patho- logical stage and lymph node metastasis in patients who underwent radical cystectomy for bladder cancer. Material and Method: One hundred twenty- five patients who underwent radical cystectomy for bladder cancer between March 2005 and January 2012 were evaluated. Pathological evaluation and clinical features were retrospectively analyzed. Results: Mean age of 125 patients were 61.7 years (38-88) who underwent radical cystectomy. Seven (%5.6) patients were female and 118 (%94.4) were male. The median number of yielded lymph node (LN) was 16 (2-81) and median number of positive LN was 2 (1-29) who had metastatic LN. Twenty four patients had no tu- mour (pT0). Two patients had pT0 disease but had lymph node metastasis (pT0N1). One of them had neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT). Median lymph node density (LND) (positive LN/ total LN ratio) was 0.14(0,03-1). Patients’ pathological results are summarized on table 1. Discussion: Although lymph node metastases seem to occur in patients with T2b or higher stages, it can be detected in patients with pT0 disease.

Hastaların 7’si (%5,6) ka- dın, 118’i (% 94,4) erkekti. Çıkarılan lenf nodu(LN) sayısı ortanca 16 (2-81), LN tutulumu saptanan hastalarda pozitif LN sayısı ortanca 2 (1-29) saptan-dı. 24 (%19,2) hastada patolojik incelemede tümör saptanmadı (pT0). Hasta-ların ikisinde pT0 olmasına rağmen LN metastazı saptandı (pT0N1). Bu hastaların birinde neoadjuvan kemoterapi (NAKT) öyküsü vardı. Lenf nodu dan-sitesi (pozitif LN/toplam LN) ortanca:0,14 (0,03-1) bulundu.
