Abstract

Aim: This single institution retrospective study aims to validate the abilityof Guy s stone score and the nephrolithometric nomogram to predict thesuccess of PCNL and to assess the correlation of the scoring systems withthe complications encountered. Material and Method: Medical fles of 1646adult patients to whom a PCNL operation was performed were reviewed. Atotal of 1325 patients fulflled the needed criteria and were included in thestudy. Study variables were recorded from the medical fles for statisticalanalysis. Results: Stone burden was the only pre-operative, operative andpost-operative variable that had a statistically signifcant correlation bothwith success and also with the complications encountered (p
