Abstract

Borderline ovarian tumors are a group of epitelial ovarian tumors showing benign and malignant clinical and pathological features. Ultrasonography was performed in six patients, of which one was virgo and one was infertile, revealed pelvic mass. All patients were operated with the suspicious of ovarian tumors. Since the peroperative pathological consultation revealed borderline ovarian tumors, three patients underwent radical surgery and staging of which one also had mesentary cyst extirpation. The fourth patient underwent USO+hysterectomy and staging, the infertile patient had fertility preserving surgery and staging and bilateral cystectomy+appendectomy+intraperitoneal washing were performed on the sixth patient who was a 17 years old virgo. Histopathological findings revealed serous papillary borderline ovarian tumors in four of the patients. One of the patients was classified as stage IIIc, four patients of which were infertile, were classified as stage Ia and the last one was classified as stage lb according to FIGO classification. The patient with stage IIIc tumor received adjuvant chemotherapy. The diagnosis and treatment of borderline ovarian tumors are discussed under the light of current literature.

Literatür bilgileri ışığında borderline over tümörlerinin tanı ve tedavileri tartışıldı.
