Abstract

Tıtwani was born In the year 1341, Titwan, a city from the west of Morocco. Along with being an expert in tafsir (interpretation) he also knew the Arabic language, Theology and fqh (Islamic law). He was a socialist, a reformer and a politician. He once opposed the governor of Titwan. This Titwanian man had political allies form the Ottoman g overnment. He saw the Ottoman government under the ruling of Islamic Caliphate. Titwani wanted two things, frst, for all Muslims to be one under the protection of the Ottoman government. And second, for them to stand against reasons of separation. He wrote a tafsir of the Quran during the period when the Ottoman government had enemies inside and outside of the country. Because of these reasons it can be said that the Titwanian s tafsir is about revival and politics. Along with being known for having reformist thoughts this Alim (scholar) was also an active politician.
