Abstract

Effect of Benzalkonium Chloride Containing Intranasal Sprays on Mucociliary Clearance and Symptoms in Perennial Allergic Rhinitis Allergic rhinitis is an immunoglobulin-E mediated public health problem effecting 10 to 30% of adults and 40% of children and it occurs after early and late immu¬ne response. Steroid containing intranasal sprays have been effectively used in allergic rhinitis. Some of these sprays contain benzalkonium chloride as preservative. In our study, we compare the effect of steroid containing intranasal sprays with/without benzalkonium chloride on mucociliary clearance and the clinic state.
