Abstract

In our study, we aimed to compare efficacy of two different doses of oral tramadol drop and paracetamol on premedication, intraoperative and recovery period and postoperative analgesia in children. Ninety, ASA I-II pediatric patients scheduled elective surgical procedures, aged betwen 2-9 years, were randomly allocated to the three groups. In Group P, midazolam 0,3 mg.kg-1 plus paracetamol 15 mg.kg-1 (n=30), in Group.T1,5; midazolam 0,3 mg.kg-1 plus tramadol 1,5 mg.kg-1 drops (n=30), in Group T3, midazolam 0,3 mg.kg-1 plus tramadol 3 mg.kg-1 drops (n=30) were administered orally 30 minutes before sevoflurane in N2O and 02 anesthetic induction. Ramsey sedation scores and separation from parents scale, response to the anesthetic induction with face mask, blood pressure, heart rate, SpO2, FİO2, FiSevoflu-rane, ETSevoflurane and ETCO2 values duration of intraoperative period were recorded. In postoperative period, blood pressure, heart rate, SpO2, respiration rate, modified objective pain scale (MOPS), facial pain scale (FPS), Ramsey sedation scale, Al-drete recovery scale, side effects, first analgesic requirement time and total analgesic consumption were noted. In Group T3, the sedation and separation from parents scores were better than Group P (p
