Abstract

İntroduction: Although, the effective ofcorticosteroids and bronchodilators withinhaler devices is featured in asthma andCOPD , disease control is inadequate.Treatment failure is usually related ofimproper use of devices. Education ofpatient is a critical component of treatmentand requirs cooperative effort of doctor, nurse and pharmacist.Aim: We aimed to evaluate inhaler deviceusage skillsof doctors, nurses, pharmacistand assistant pharmacist who trains patients.Method: A total number of 120 doctors, nurses, pharmacist and assistantpharmacist included the study. We askedto demostrate the use of each device whichare widely used , metered dose inhaler(MDI),diskus, turbuhaler, aerolizer and easyhaler.Correct use of each devices was assessed in ten steps over 10 points. Results: The mean age of medicalpersonell included the study was 31.8 ±7.0 .%92.5 of participants knew how touse meter dose inhalers, %85 ofaerolizer. %70 of participants was trained before about the inhaler device tehcniques. Meandemostration score for meter dose inhaler6.5±2.4, discus 6.8±2.9, turbuhaler 5.8±3.7,aerolizer 7.4±2.8 and easyhaler 2.9±0.3.Mean demostration score for meter doseinhaler, discus , turbuhaler ,aerolizer, easyhaler 6.3±2.0, 7.3±1.8, 6.6±2.8,7.7±1.6, 3.5±3.3 in assistant pharmacist , 6.3±2.0, 6.8±2.3, 5.5±3.5, 6.7±2.9, 3.5±3.1in pharmacist , 6.3±3.1, 6.0±3.7, 4.8±4.2,7.8±3.5, 3.1±1.3 in nurses, 6.4±2.0,6.4±3.1, 4.3±4.1,6.2±3.5, 1.4±0.3 in familyphysician , 9.0±1.1, 9.5±1.0, 9.2±1.3, 9.6±0.8 ve 9.7±0.9 in pulmonologist (p
