Abstract

In recent years, several studies have reported better glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes who were using proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). The purpose of this study was to see the effect of PPI therapy on glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) leves for patients with type 2 diabetes. A total of 284 (female 199, male 85) patiens with type 2 diabetes who were admitted to the Department of Internal Medicine of Kars Government Hospital were included in to the study. Informed consents were taken from all

Özet

Özet Son yıllarda proton pompa inhibitörü (PPİ) kullanımının Tip 2 diyabetli hastalarda kan şekeri kontrolüne olumlu etkisi olduğunu gösteren çalışmalar yayınlanmaktadır. Bu çalışmadaki amacımız polikliniğimizde takip etmekte olduğumuz Tip 2 diyabetli hastalarda PPİ kullanımının HbA1c üzerinde etkisi olup olmadığını incelemektir. Çalışmaya Kars Devlet hastanesi İç Hastalıkları Polikliniklerinde takip edilmekte olan199 kadın, 85 erkek toplam 284 Tip 2 diyabet hastası dahil edildi. Çalışma öncesinde hastalarbilgilendirilerekaydınlatılmış onamları alındı. İstatistiksel analizler için SPSS for Windows 16.0 programı kullanıldı. Hastaların yaş ortalaması 58.37±10.67; ortalama hastalık süresi 6.61±6.05 yıldı. Ortalama HbA1c %8.28±1.68, ortalama açlık kan şekerleri (AKŞ) 178.56±86.61 mg/ dl idi. Grup 1: 40 kadın, 20 erkek toplam 60 hastadan, Grup 2: 159 kadın, 65 erkek toplam 224 hastadan oluşmaktaydı. Gruplar arasında yaş, cinsiyet, hastalık süresi, sadece insülin kullanımı, sadece oral antidiyabetik (OAD) kullanımı, insülin ve OAD birlikte kullanımı, vücut ağırlığı, beden kitle indeksi, bel çevresi, sigara kullanımı, hipertansiyon varlığı açısından farklılık bulunmazken Pİ) an nu Bu p da si ya (p>0.05); AKŞ ve HbA1c düzeyleri PPİ kullanan grupta istatistiksel olarak anlamlı düşük bulundu (her ikisi için de p: 0.001). Bu çalışmada PPİ kullanan Tip 2 diyabetli hastalarda AKŞ ve HbA1c düzeyleri anlamlı düşük bulunmuştur, PPİlerinin diyabet regülasyonunundakimuhtemelyararlı etkilerini göstermek için kontrollü prospektif çalışmalara ihtiyaç vardır.
