Abstract

AIM:The aim of this study is to evaluate the results for early laparoscopic cholecycstec-tomy in patients who were treated for acute biliary pancreatitis without discharge of pa-tients .MATERIAL AND METHODS:Between janu-ary 2012 and july 2015, the data of 37 pa-tients who were hospitailzed for acute biliary pancreatitis, were evaluated retrospectively, inwhomlaparoscopiccholecyctectomywere performed before discharged after ob-taining normal clinical and laboratory results. Age, sex, laboratory findings, ultrasonograp-hy, MRCP, and ERCP results, operation time, open convertion, morbidity, mortality, post operative care were recordedFINDINGS:Of37acutepancreatitispa-tients;16 was male, 21 female and the mean age was 58,1. The average ranson score was 1,38. As examined sonographically;26 patientshadmultiplecalcules(70,27%),5hadsludge(13,51%),6hadsinglecalcu-le(16,22%). 19 patients suspicious for bile duct disease according to laboratory and clinical findings were examined by MRCP. ERCP was performed for 6 patients in whom calcule detected in MRCP. In all patients the standart laparoscopic cholesistectomy pro-sedure was done by using 4 ports. In only one patient the prosedure was continued by open conversion because of cholecystodu-denal fistule which did not diagnosed preo-peratively. Calculated average hospitalizati-on time was 2,08 days.CONCLUSİON:Despitethediffucultiesasbringing up the anatomic structures and delayed operation time in early period lapa-roscopic cholecystectomies;we believe that early laparoscopic cholecyctectomy is an ef-fective choice of management and prevents the recurrent acute pancreatit attacks.
