Abstract

This study is a quasi-experimental research whieh aims to find out if there is a statistieaııy signifieant difference on the test and item statisties when a multiple choiee mathematies achievement test applied with or without a test instruction that indicate chance attenuation formula will be used. The research has been carried on 452 first year students of 14 vocationalhealth schools. The measurementinstrnmentdevelopedby theresearcherwhiehis constitute40 five-choicequestionsin a mathematies achievement test for first year classes of high schooL.Findings point out that giving formula scoring instruction does not influence mean test scores, test validity and item difficulty indiees but increases the KR-20 internal consistency reliability and item discrimination values. Findings were discussed in context of related literature.
