Abstract
Fluoride iontophoresis is one of the treatment options of tooth sensitivity. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of fluori-de iontophoresis in reducing tooth sensitivity. Our study was carried on a total of 90 teeth from 24 patients with tooth sensitivity. 43.3 % (39 teeth) of the teeth had received pre-treatment for tooth sensitivity (except from fluoride iontophoresis ), 56.7 % (51 teeth) of them had not. There was no success in 10.3 % (4 teeth) and success in 89.7 % (35 teeth) of the pre-treated teeth. There was no success in 27.5 % (14 teeth ), reduction of complaint in 27.5 % (14 teeth) and success in 45.1 % (23 teeth) of the untreated teeth. It is concluded that fluoride iontophoresis is more effective on teeth which had received pre-treatment for tooth sensitivity ( $x^2$= 20.808, p = 0.0001 ).

Kole hassasiyetinin tedavi seçeneklerinden birisi de flor iyontoforezisdir. Bu çalışmanın amacı flor iyontoforezisin kole hassasiyetinin giderilmesindeki etkenliğini değerlendirmektir. Çalışmamız kole hassasiyeti olan 24 hastaya ait toplam 90 diş üzerinde yapılmıştır. Dişlerin % 43.3 u (39 diş) önceden kole hassasiyetiyle ilgili tedavi görmüş (flor iyontoforezis haricinde), % 56.7'si ise (51 diş) herhangi bir tedavi görmemiştir. Tedavi görmemiş dişlerin % 27.5'inde (14 diş) tedavi sonrasında başarı elde edilememiş, % 27.5'inde (14 diş) şikayette azalma görülmüş, % 45. 1'inde ise (23 diş) tam iyileşme saptanmıştır.
