Abstract

This clinical report describes the prosthetic treatment of a Class III malocclusion combined with decreased occlusal vertical dimension. At the first step, the determined appropriate occlusal vertical dimension was reestablished with an overlay removable partial denture. This procedure provided a controlled adaptation to the newly established occlusal vertical dimension. In this manner, esthetic, phonetic and masticatory problems and requirements of the dentition could be easily evaluated before the final restoration. At the end of a 6 months adaptation period, final maxillary and mandibular full mouth fixed partial dentures were fabricated and inserted. Following periodic clinical controls, not any complaint nor complication was determined.
