Bu çalışmada havacılık sanayiindeki çeşitli alt-disiplinler ve anahtar teknolojiler sıralanmış bunların önem ve etkileri gözden geçirilmiştir. Yeni araştırmalara dayalı gözlemler geniş bir aralığa yayılmış geleneksel araştırma yöntemlerinin devam edeceğini ancak güvenilirlik, işletilebilirlik, bütçeye uygunluk, çok yönlülük ve çevresel etkiler gibi kavramların giderek hayati önem kazanacaklarını göstermektedir.
