Abstract

Factitious disorder is an abnormal illnessaffirming behavior. In this disorder, patients intentionally produce signs of medical or mental disorders and misrepresent their histories and symptoms. They are unaware of its underlying motivation. This disorder has a tendency to be chronic and has poor diagnosis. Differential diagnosis is difficult and there is not a definite cure. Therefore, early diagnosis by psychiatrists and other doctors is crucial. In this report, a case with a complaint of color changes in the face, hands and legs is presented and discussed in the light of the literature.
