Abstract

Acromegalic phenotype is not always associated with increased IGF-1 and growth hormone levels. This condition, encountered occasionally, is known as pseudoacromegaly. Acromegalic phenotype may be a sequel of insulin resistance and is characterized by the preserved mitogenic effects of insulin in contrast to its defective metabolic effects. We report a case of insulin resistance related pseudoacromegaly case.
