Abstract

Failures of asynchronous motors used in production lines prevent the production targets. This has a negative impact on both the profitability of the company and its reliability in the industry. Planning of faults requires maintanence work to be proactive. Proactive maintanence ensures failure detection, planing and excanhange without failure. The determination of ac motor malfunctions by vibration, electrical values or sound measurement is carried out and many applications are used in the industry. In this study, acouistic measurement of asynchronous motor failures were investigated. Robust and malfunctioning motor sound files were obtained by acoustic measurements. The changes in the time domain of the sound files and the changes in the frequency domain were obtained by Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) with the Matlab software. FFT differences in sound files measured during operation of different speed and torque values of the robust motor and motor with broken rotor bar were determined and interpreted by K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN).
