Abstract

As well as elements connected to the verb, such as subjects, objects, adverbs and indirect objects within syntax, there are various language units which possess different functions within the sentence according to the element it is placed in front of, and which do not respond to the questions asked of the verb. These units, which have no connection with the verb, are units which possess various functions such as modality, connection, addressing, explanation, etc.. Together with these functions, there are also certain units which contain meanings such as promoting, restricting, strengthening the item which they have been placed in front of, and emphasise these meanings, as well as completely changing the meaning of the sentence. These are language units which carry accentuating functions. It has not been possible to establish any term unity within the grammar on these units, and the specified units have been marked under various categories such as modal words, connection or strengthening prepositions, entreaty contexts, prepositions, adverbs, particulars, particles, etc.. Language units carrying accentuating functions, which are able to be placed in front of the elements they are used with rather than just after them, mark the element they affect within the syntax as the primary element, associate and ensure the links between sentences and the elements they emphasise with the element within another sentence which has the same duty, are also evaluated in different ways within groups of words. These units, which are identified with words such as ‘only, just, alone, but, especially, particularly, etc.’ in the Turkish spoken in Turkey, are witnessed in the written language of Nogai Turkish, which is a Kipczak group Turkish dialect as, ‘bolsa, böten de, …DA…DA, deseñ, em…em…, endi/ endigisi, eş bolmasa, MA, ne…ne…, şA, tek, aqıyqatlay da, uşınlay da, üşinimen de, üşinley de, yalğız etc.’, and mark various functions
