Abstract

In this study, we aim to offer an overall report to the Turkish readers on the structure and basic problems of American local government. In this vein, we use a descriptive approach by a literature survey on the issue. In this context, we first give account about the constitutional statute of the local government. Then we go on to study the established pattern of the structures of the local government. Finally we will mention contemporary problems of the local governments.

Özet

Bu çalışmada, A.B.D yerel yönetiminin yapısına ve temel sorunlarına dair Türk okuyucusuna genel bir fikir verilmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Bu doğrultuda, konuyla ilgili bir literatür taraması yapılmak suretiyle betimsel yöntem benimsenmiştir. Bu bağlamda, ilk önce Amerikan yerel yönetimlerinin anayasal statüleri hakkında bilgi verilmekte, daha sonra yerleşik yerel yönetim kurumları incelenmekte ve son olarak yerel yönetimlerin çağdaş sorunlarına değinilmektedir.
