Abstract

Large majority of all mandibular fractures arelocalized on the condyle. Proper treatment of thesefractures is important for preventing the functionaland anatomic disorders that may occursubsequently. However, the diagnosis and propermanagement of the fractured mandibular condyle isone of the controversial topics in maxillofacialtrauma. In this paper, diagnosis and currenttreatment modalities of mandibular condylefractures are reviewed.

Özet

Mandibula kırıklarının büyük bir kısmı kondilersahada lokalizedir. Bu tip kırıkların uygun şekildetedavisi bu bölgede daha sonradan oluşabilecekfonksiyonel ve anatomik bozuklukların gelişiminiengellemek açısından büyük önem taşımaktadır.Bununla birlikte, kondil kırıklarının teşhis ve uyguntedavisi maksillofasiyal alanda tartışılan konulardanbirisi olmuştur. Bu makalede, mandibular kondilkırıklarının teşhisi ve uygulanan tedavi yöntemlerigözden geçirilmiştir.
