Abstract

Although there exist many international computer-based standardized tests such as Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), Graduate Record Examination (GRE) ve Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), there is no such computer-based test held nationally except Pupil Monitoring System (PMS) developed by Cito Türkiye. PMS is unique in Turkey not only because of the fact that it is computer-based and items are tested by pilot studies but also the analysis are conducted on Item Response Theory (IRT) basis. The other computer-based test administration which uses IRT models is the computerized adaptive test (CAT). The current study examines the applicability of Pupil Monitoring System as computerized adaptive so that simulations are designed to test different scenarios. In fact, the general aim is determining optimum CAT algorithm for PMS.
