Abstract

In this study, it was aimed to assess the accuracy of forest areas classified by the CORINE Land Cover mapping in Turkey. As is known, the CORINE Land Cover classification system is an implementation of the European Union. In this context, it has a certain standard features. But on the other hand, every country is obliged to transmit the accuracy of its own land classification to these standard features. In this case study about AntalyaÇakırlar forest district, the accuracy of forest classes in the CORINE Land Cover mapping was checked by comparing it both with the stand maps of forest management plans and the results of digital classification of remotely sensed data. Comparisons were realized on the base of polygonal field properties. It was found that forests cover 7573,51ha areas in Çakırlar according to CORINE while 14932,52 ha according to forest management plan. In addition, the forest areas with 7730,84 ha was ignored during CORINE classification. This is 51, 77% of total forest areas in the study area. It came to light that scattered forest parts smaller than 25 ha and which aggregated 2741, 27 ha were ignored by CORINE classification. Those areas were included in land classes mainly like Transitional Vegetation Areas, Agricultural areas including natural vegetation and sparsely vegetated areas.

Özet

Bu çalışma ile ülkemizde yürütülen CORINE Arazi ÖrtüsüHaritalaması’nın orman alanlarında doğruluğuna yönelik değerlendirmelerdebulunulmuştur. Bilindiği üzere CORINE Arazi Örtüsü Sınıflandırma Sistemibir Avrupa Birliği uygulamasıdır ve belirli standartlara sahiptir. Her ülke dekendi sınıflandırmalarının doğruluğunu bu standart özelliklere ulaştırmaklayükümlüdür. Bu çalışmada CORINE Arazi Örtüsü Haritalaması’na aitormanlık alan sınıflarının doğruluğu, orman amenajmanı meşcere haritalarıve uzaktan algılamayla gerçekleştirilen sayısal sınıflandırma sonuçlarınınkarşılaştırılması ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Karşılaştırmalar poligonsal sahaözelliklerinin değerlendirilmesini kapsamaktadır.Ormanlık alanlar CORINE Arazi Örtüsü Haritalaması’nda 7573,51ha, orman amenajmanı meşcere haritalarında 14932,52 ha. Bunun yanındaise 7730,84 ha’lık orman alanının, CORINE orman tiplerindesınıflandırılmadığı anlaşılmaktadır. Bu orman meşcere haritalarında kiormanlık alanın % 51, 77’ine tekabül etmektedir. Diğer yandan 25 ha’ınaltında parçalı ve dağınık vaziyette bulunan toplam 2741, 27 ha ormanlıkalanın CORINE sınıflandırmalarında göz ardı edildiği ortaya çıkmaktadır.Bu alanlar poligonsal saha büyüklüğüne göre Bitki Değişim Alanları, DoğalBitki Örtüsü Bulunan Tarım Alanları, Seyrek Bitkili Alanları gibi belli başlıdiğer CORINE Arazi Sınıflarına yüksek % oranlarıyla dağıldığıbelirlenmiştir.
