Abstract

Aim: The aim of this study is to evaluate according to gingival criteria of occurring gingival changes in children which was applied root canal treatment and stainless steel crown. Materials and Methods: Root canal treatment and stainless steel crown were applied to 120 second primary molars (50 upper jaw and 70 lower jaw) of 69 children (38 male, 31 female) aged between 5-8 years (average 6,91 ± 1,08 years). Root canal treatments were followed for a period of 12 months with 3 month clinic and 6 month radiographic time intervals. Gingival criteria (OHI-S, PI, GI, SD) were done for every clinic evaluation period. All statistical analysis was determined at a level of 5 and 1 percent. Results: The differences of gingival evaluation criteria (OHI-S, Pİ, Gİ, SD) during the follow-up period was found to be statistically significant (P

Özet

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, kök kanal tedavisi ve paslanmaz çelik kuron (PÇK) uygulanan çocuklarda meydana gelen gingival değişiklikleri gingival kriterlere göre değerlendirmektir. Gereç ve Yöntem: 5-8 yaşları arasındaki (ortalama 6,91 ± 1,08) 69 çocuğun (38 erkek, 31 kız) toplam 120 adet süt II. azı dişine (50 üst çene, 70 alt çene) kök kanal tedavisi ve PÇK yapılmıştır. Kök kanal tedavileri 3’er aylık klinik ve 6’şar aylık radyografik kontroller ile 12 ay boyunca değerlendirilmişlerdir. Gingival kriterler [Basitleştirilmiş Oral Hijyen İndeksi (OHİ-S), Plak İndeksi (Pİ), Gingival İndeks (Gİ), Sondalanabilir Cep Derinliği (SD)] her klinik değerlendirme periyodunda yapılmıştır. Tüm istatistiksel analizler %5 güven seviyesinde yapılmıştır.Bulgular: Gingival değerlendirme kriterleri için takip süreleri boyunca farklılık istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunmuştur (P
