Abstract

Adrenalin is the single life-saving therapy known in the treatment of anaphylaxis. Therefore, all the guidelines recommend prescription of adrenalin autoinjectors to all patients who have a risk of recurrence of anaphylaxis. This brings not only increase in the use of adrenalin autoinjectors but also errors with its application. In the present review, development process and ideal features of adrenalin autoinjectors; the effects of design of autoinjectors on its proper use, and current progressions in the autoinjector technology are discussed in the light of published reports.

Özet

Adrenalin anafilaksi tedavisinde bilinen tek hayat kurtarıcı tedavidir. Bu nedenle tüm rehberler anafilakside tekrarlama riski olan her hastaya adrenalin otoenjektör reçete edilmesini önermektedir. Bu durum, adrenalin otoenjektör kullanım sıklığını artırmakla birlikte kullanım hatalarındaki artışı da beraberinde getirmektedir. Bu derlemede adrenalin otoenjektörlerin gelişim süreci, cihazda bulunması gereken özellikler, otoenjektör tasarımlarının doğru kullanım üzerine olan etkileri ve otoenjektör teknolojisindeki güncel gelişmeler literatür bilgileri ışığında tartışılmıştır.
