Abstract

The aim of this study was to search the effects of vetch seed (Vida sativa L.) added to the turkey ration on live weight gain, feed consumption, feed efficiency and some haematological and biochemical parameters. The turkeys were divided into three groups (one control and two experimental groups). Control group was fed with rations without vetch. Vetch was added to the rations of group I and II (experimental groups) at the level of 4% and 8%, respectively. In the study, 72 (16 weeks old) turkeys were used. Each group contained 24 turkeys. The experimental period lasted five weeks. There were no statistically significant differences among the groups in the live weight gain and feed consumption. But feed consumption per kilogram live weight gain in the ex-perimental groups was higher than the control group (p
